Salt Fix

All are happily on their way through Londonderry now. Craig looks a lot happier after taking some salt on board having experienced a bit of cramp just before the last CP.

I am recovering from embarrassment after falling out of our transit like a sack of potatoes onto the floor! I don't think anyone saw me thankfully although my muddy jeans are a bit of a giveaway;-)

More soon...

Entering Muff

To all of our great amusement we are close to Entering Muff... Cathal has been especially excited at the prospect and a few miles back had an incident with a goat! It sounds as if the goat took a shine to him and reportedly followed him for about 1km..

Well that's Cathal's story anyway...

Back to the running and all four are together at CP2 and are coasting along quite nicely...

More when we have crossed over from North Southern Ireland back into Northern Ireland... where the sun is shining and we can use our GB phones again :-)))

The First Checkpoint

Well our runners have safely negotiated through the first section to the beautiful Malin. The sun is shining and the views are breathtaking at the 10 mile point...

Who would have thought it but if anything it's too hot!!! Vicky has already removed her hat, gloves and one of her layers.

It's 'dooey' for now (I'm sure that bares no resemblance to the Dutch spelling)! More from 20 miles...

6km obstacle

Well we have met our first obstacle of the event as a road block has appeared overnight at the 6km point. As it turns out the new route is marginally longer and much flatter so no major drama! More from CP1...

Typically Tropical

Well good morning from a very wet and windy Malin Head.

Spirits are high and everyone is tucking into a hearty breakfast on the sleeper bus. Word of the day is Ristepap - that's Dutch for Porridge to you and me.

I'm looking forward to learning another Dutch word tomorrow. Any ideas would be welcomed...

We are off to the start for 9am...
