They think it's all over - It is now!!!
Did they all finish? Of course they did... It was Dutch Superstar Jenni de Groot that took the tape followed closely by Cathal Bracken clocking 3.15 for the last 20 miles. Just 7 seconds divided them after 345 miles of running. Jenni's partner Anneke who cycled the whole of the route was there to cross the line with her.
ULTRA-runner Extraordinaire, Vicky Luffrum, picked up the pace and all of our emotions as she crossed the line in floods of tears... Hers and Ours!
We'll have an event round up tomorrow but we just wanted to let you know that everyone finished the stage today.
For all of you who have been watching in we thank you for your interest and glad that you've been part of our M2M Ultra Event.

Congratulations everyone, you're an inspiration to anyone that's ever put a pair of running shoes on.
ReplyDeleteNow that's one fine team all supporting eachother. Great performances by each runner- everything they put into it made it a superb event to follow, in some ways it's a pity it has come to an end.(though I suspect the runners might have something to say about that!)The support team have done the very best of jobs too, without them there'd be no m2m. I'll be following the event when it comes around again, it's been a real inspiration.

Congratulations to you all!
ReplyDeleteVicky-put you feet up!
Have a well earned rest everyone...

Great end to a great race and Vicky wouldn't have changed it for the world! But (there's often a "but")the day after the day after didn't see any improvement in Vicky's foot. A visit to A&E revealed a probable stress fracture of the tibia! So she is now in plaster to her knee and gotten out of training for a few weeks! S***. !!
